A Quote to Journal or Meditate On

“I think perhaps I have gotten more out of life than it contains.”  Natalie Clifford Barney

I believe it is possible to get more out of life than it contains. How? By living in awareness, in conscious alignment with the unseen realms of spirit that are all around you and are one with you.

Life is so much greater than what I can see. What I see is infinitesimal compared to what I don’t see, yet I know it. How? I can know, to some extent through meditating, journaling, creating, making music or sounds and being in nature, listening, sensing taking it in.

What do you think about it?

I love how you chose the Hermit Thrush for this quote. It takes attention to see him as he blends so well with the forest floor. There are so many stunningly beautiful birds in the canyon that awe us when they appear. But sometimes those plain little birds are the most delightful to discover.

Kim, what you wrote above is an amazing reminder of the beauty in the unseen world in simple and powerful language. There is a blessing too in what you wrote that is profoundly “reachable” and honest. Consciousness is a choice. A decision to take God in moment by moment.

  3. Kimberly Wulfert says:

Judy- your comment speaks to exactly why I chose an image of an ordinary looking bird. Birds are all beautiful Beings in their own right, but we may overlook those of a dull brown/grey color, small in size, unadorned in any special way. WE miss the beauty of nature and Spirit when we take that approach.

Cath- I agree 100%. We are fortunate humans when we can raise our consciousness to embrace the mystery of life unseen so that we do not miss the inherent beauty of All or Source or God.
